Prime Minister promises to bring back growth to Industrialists
Today the Prime minister of India while addressing Industrialists during the annual meet of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) mentioned about getting the growth momentum back and stressed on the reforms government taking to bring growth back.
Addressing the meet through video conference the Prime Minister spoke the economic actions being taken. He mentioned that India is already getting back to its growth mode by coming out of the lockdown. His words were “While it’s true that coronavirus has slowed down our growth, India has now left the lockdown behind and has entered unlock phase 1. So in a way, we have already started getting our growth back. I have confidence in India’s capabilities, crisis management”.
The Prime Minister also said the bringing back economic growth is at the top priority of government apart from fighting COVID-19. The government is handling the crisis by keeping the long term prospects in mind, he added. He also mentioned the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojna has benefitted Migrant laborers by providing Rs.53000 crore of financial assistance for free ration.
He asserted the governments intent towards growth in the economy.
“For us, reforms are not any random or scattered decisions. For us reforms are systemic, planned, integrated, inter-connected, and futuristic process,” the prime minister said.
He also said that the Coal sector which was seeing hindrance in the past has now able to scale up and export coal from world’s third-largest coal manufacturing country.
He mentioned about the opportunities that are available to private sector players in the Country.
Speaking about capacity the PM mentioned how the production of PPE’s was scaled up in a shorter span of time during the COVID-19 crisis. “India helped over 150 countries with medical supplies during the corona crisis. The world is looking for a trusted, reliable partner. India Inc must take advantage of the trust that India has gained across the world during the coronavirus crisis”, he said.
The prime minister asserted that the government is with the Industrialists and will take necessary steps to help them.
