Krishi Bhawan building is a building of size 8340 square metre, which houses the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
They seal the building today (Monday) because of the Covid19 positive cases reported from the building. The employees of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying tested positive for the coronavirus.
They completely sealed the second and third floor of the building for 2 days. As the office of the ministries is in the second and third floor, they have taken this decision.
As per the officials, they direct all other employees of animal husbandry to work from home. And they also say that they will sanitize the building for the next 2 days.
As per the ANI report, the official who got infected had come to the office on May 13. The ministry told that they advise all the persons who came in direct contact with the infected person to home quarantine themselves.
The memorandum, according to the instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said the quarantined employees have to undergo testing after the quarantine period. They can attend the office after testing negative.
They also said the building will reopen after May 21, and rotationally, they will call the remaining staff to attend the office.
Government Buildings and Covid19
The building houses other ministries including agriculture, food and consumer affairs, rural development besides the Animal husbandry, fisheries and dairying Ministry.
They also sealed other buildings such as Rashtrapati Bhavan and the law ministry, after the employees tested covid19 positive.
Also at Rashtrapati Bhavan, an assistant commissioner of police tested positive yesterday. They admitted the ACP in the Delhi hospital and they also quarantined most of the other police officers.
